For guidance on how to create a prompt, check the article here.

When you are publishing your template, you will see a popup. You can choose to set it as free or revenue share.

Set the toggle to enable revenue share.

You can always change this revenue share percentage in the “Story Settings” section.

Now, when any user tries to use your prompt, they will see this message:

FAQ

  • Do I have to have custom art to release a revenue share prompt?

No! Anyone who wishes to may release a revenue share prompt.

  • Where will I see the hearts I earn from my prompt’s revenue share?

The hearts will be added to your total hearts earned in your profile.

  • What percentage of revenue should I take?

This is up to you! It depends on how much art or exclusive content you are sharing in your template and how much you think people will agree to. We recommend starting between 10-20% and then adjusting depending on your results.

  • What happens if I change my revenue share % after it’s already live?

Games created before this point will continue using the old rev share %. Any new games will use your new rev share %.

  • If I create a spinoff story using an author’s ideas or characters, do I own them?

If you write a spinoff story based on another writer’s prompt, that prompt writer is giving you permission to use their prompt and anything included in it to create and monetize your own original work using the prompt feature of the Dorian platform.

That permission does NOT mean that you own that prompt writer’s stories or characters – so for example, you can’t use them outside of Dorian, and you can’t create a new story on Dorian outside of the prompt feature that uses those stories or characters.

In addition, the prompt writer still retains all the rights to their intellectual property: this means that if the prompt writer wants to create a new story with their characters – even a story similar to your spinoff – you give them that right.

  • If I use a custom art template and then add my own characters, do they become available in the original template for others to use?

No! Any edits made to a spin-off after a template is used only appear in that spin-off. They can never affect the original template.
