The writing community is well acquainted with National Novel Writing Month “NaNoWriMo”. What if you could spend your November creating a full visual novel with interactive features? What if your game could get you reads, feedback, and fans with every new chapter? What if you could start making money on day one?
You can. Join us for Dorian Story Writing Month, a challenge where we invite YOU to create a full 10 episode series in the month of November! By the end of this month, you will have published a complete, binge-worthy series that will grow your influence on our game creation platform, invite streamers to binge-read LIVE, and make you money! Plus, you’ll be a part of a community of creators dedicated to elevating your work, supporting you through the hardest moments of imposter syndrome and celebrating you through the greatest accomplishments!

How to participate
During the Contest Period (Nov 1 at 12:01 am PST to Nov 30 at 11:59 pm PST), publish at least 10 episodes as part of a series on Dorian using the template available on Dorian. These episodes must:
Have at least 3 choices in each episode
Represent your own original, creative ideas

There will be three winners of our DoriStoriWriMo prizes!
Winner 1: Receive a set of 5 custom anime-styled characters they design. These characters will be created by an artist of Dorian’s choice.

How will winners be chosen?
DoriStoriWriMo is not a competition — every series that fulfills the challenge is a winner! As such, the winners of the prizes will be selected by a random drawing performed by the Dorian team. Everyone who completes the challenge will have an equal opportunity to win. Once someone has won a prize, they will be removed from the drawing for other prizes.
How do I stay on track all month?
Make sure you join the Dorian discord to participate in our daily check-in, where we’ll discuss our writing progress everyday and share tips & tricks to stay motivated! Plus, make sure you tune in for livestreams hosted by Kiersten Greenfield where she will be choosing her favorite DoriStoriWriMo entries to play live on Dorian!

Can I write anything I want?
Yes! As long as you follow eligibility requirements you can create anything you want! Need help getting inspired? Check the DoriStoriWriMo template and the discord for weekly prompts that will give you inspiration and ideas!
Can I write an Interview with the Vampire story as my DoriStoriWriMo project?
Of course! As long as you publish 10 episodes in the month of November and comply with the eligibility requirements!
Can my project be longer than 10 episodes?
Of course! Our requirements are minimums, we’d love to see you go above and beyond!
Terms & Conditions
Entrants must comply with entry guidelines listed above to be eligible for prize. Entrants must post during the contest window to be considered.
GENERAL PRIZE CONDITIONS: Except as set forth herein, no cash alternative or substitution of prizes will be allowed, except Dorian reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute prizes of comparable value if any prize listed is unavailable, in whole or in part, for any reason. Prizes will be awarded only if the potential prize winner fully complies with these Official Rules. All portions of the prize(s) are non-assignable and non-transferable. Any prizes pictured in point-of-sale, online, television and print advertising, promotional packaging, and other Contest materials are for illustrative purposes only. All ARV are subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things, any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of these Official Rules and the date the prize is awarded or redeemed. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between guidelines, disclosures or other statements contained in any such promotional materials and the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, these Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control. All details and other restrictions of the prize(s) not specified in these Official Rules will be determined by Dorian in its sole discretion. The Prize winner shall be solely responsible for all federal, state, local and/or provincial taxes, and the reporting consequences thereof, and for any other fees or costs associated with the applicable prize. If required by law, Dorian reserves the right to withhold and remit to the appropriate taxing authorities the amount of any tax or taxes due. With respect to non-cash prizes, it may be legally necessary under the United States Internal Revenue Code (as determined by Dorian in its sole discretion) for the Prize winner to pay the amount of any tax before receiving the prize. Each potential winner (or, if the potential winner is a minor, their parent or legal guardian) may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and where imposing such condition is legal, a Publicity Release, and any other documents as required by Dorian to deliver the prize (collectively, the “Prize Claim Documents”). Dorian reserves the right to conduct background checks on the potential winner prior to granting any award. Dorian also reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any individual who has been charged with or convicted of a felony or misdemeanor, is delinquent on child support, spousal support, tax payments or any other government ordered payment, has or is suspected of failing to comply with any provision of these Official Rules or the Terms of Use, including, but not limited to, having made any false statements in connection with his/her participation in the Contest. Should it be determined that a potential winner has made a false statement in any document required by Dorian, Dorian reserves the right to disqualify the potential winner and select an alternate winner. If a potential winner (or a minor potential winner’s parent or legal guardian) fails or refuses to sign and return all the Prize Claim Documents within five (5) days after being notified that they have been selected as the potential winner (or a shorter time if required by exigencies), the potential winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected.
Dorian makes no warranties, and hereby disclaims any and all warranties, express or implied, concerning any prize furnished in connection with the Contest. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, SUCH PRIZES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND DORIAN HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL SUCH WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND/OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
