The beloved characters hail from The Arcana: A Mystic Romance, an interactive visual romance and mystery novel that allows the player to explore the world of Vesuvia with their choice of romance route. Fans of The Arcana are already creating epic universe expansions, professional cosplays, and beautiful fanart on Dorian, a game and stream platform for fandoms! Now, we invite die-hard fans and newcomers to bring the characters from 2D to beautiful 3D color in a special painting competition!

The Arcana: A Mystic Romance

Welcome to Vesuvia, a mysterious land of murder and magic. You’re a young prodigy tarot card reader. Judging

The rules are simple – we want to see your creativity bring new looks and life to these beloved characters! Painted models will be judged by [JUDGE INFO]. These judges will consider the following criteria:

Technical Painting Skills

Up to 60 total points

How technically excellent is the painting work on the figurine? Technical faults include incomplete coverage, details obscured by heavy paint, etc.

Aesthetics

Up to 30 total points

How appealing is the visual design of the painting? This measure is subjective and based upon each judge’s personal opinions and preferences.

Artistic Interpretation

Up to 60 total points

How inspired, creative, and impressive is your design?

We will summarize all points from each criteria and each judge. The entry with the most points in each category will be 1st place winner. Additional winners will be ranked according to their points score. The most important thing to bring is your creativity!

Winners will be announced live on Dorian between Apr 8-15
and posted on socials and Only-Games afterwards.

Community Vote

Two categories will have winners selected based on community voting.

Entries submitted before Feb 29, 11:59 pm Pacific Time are eligible for the “Early Bird” category with a voting period of Mar 1 - Mar 4.
All entries (except early bird winners) will be considered for the general community vote. Voting will be held for the general community vote from Apr 1 - Apr 7.
All eligible entries will be cross-posted to Dorian’s #TheArcanaFigurine chat channel on the Dorian platform, where fans will have an opportunity to vote for their favorites.
The entries that receive the most votes during the voting period will be the winners.

Eligibility

For you to be eligible for a prize, your submission must include:

A turnaround video of your painted The Arcana figurine on your Instagram Reels or TikTok before Mar 31, 11:59 pm Pacific Time

You must follow and tag The Arcana and Dorian accounts, based on the platforms you post

Include the figurine size in the caption - Tabletop (sm) or Collector’s (lg)

Your figurine painting must comply with the following:

Use any of the available The Arcana figurines from Only-Games, the Dorian Merch store, or Dorian’s Etsy.
Use at least two colors in painting
Use any painting method, but you should paint the entire figurine yourself
The painting must be your artistic interpretation and NOT an exact copy of the original design

You can have more than one entry per category if you have more than one figurine painted, but each submission should meet all the criteria to be eligible. Different entries should contain significantly (at least 30%) different designs from other submissions.
While you can participate multiple times for a given category, remember that you will need to make a distinct post for each entry to be eligible.

You will be disqualified if your entry does not comply with these requirements.

Winners will be announced live on Dorian between Apr 8-15. Early Bird community winners will be announced live on Dorian between Mar 5-12.
